The Best Fijian Hotel: Bedarra Beach Inn

Fiji

Sometimes it can be a challenge to find that perfect family getaway on a budget, but we found ours. After spending a few weeks with friends and family at Orange County in America, we planned a short 5-night stopover to relax and unwind. And down the Coral Coast on the main island of Viti Levu, we found the best Fijian hotel, Bedarra Beach Inn. It’s around a 2-hour drive from Nadi International airport and we arranged an airport pick up with the hotel.

Why We Love This Hotel

The Hotel

Bedarra Beach Inn is a boutique a hotel with very friendly staff who love kids. By the end of our first day, all the staff knew our names. They really know how to make you feel at home.

Location

It’s situated right on the water with amazing views. If you don’t feel like snorkelling in the sea then the hotel pool is a great alternative.

The Food

The restaurant food is some of the best I have ever had anywhere in the world. The prices are reasonable and we even met guests from the Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort who preferred to eat here.

I think I tried most things on the menu and every time the food was perfect. Just remember to book a table at breakfast otherwise you could miss out.

Happy Hour

You can’t beat half price drinks. One of the staff calls ‘Happy Hour’ by playing the ‘Lali’ (drum). They even asked Lukas if he would like to try but he was to shy.

Here you can sit around the bar and chat with the other guests or continue to lazy around the pool.

Hotel Rooms

The rooms are spacious, cleaned the beds are very comfortable. There was no TV and let’s face it, who would need it.

We either played board games, read or sat on the balcony, looked at the ocean views or spent time on the white sand beaches.

Relaxing

Relax on the lounges at the front of the lagoon. After spending time with Lukas swimming (snorkelling) and splashing around, he fell asleep for around 2 hours.

I spend that glorious 2 hours reading under a palm with him asleep next to me. Or even just relaxing around the pool amongst the tropical gardens is great too.

Sunsets

Fijian sunsets here are something special, make sure you have your camera.

Entertainment

The Bedarra beach boys will entertain you within the evening with their sweet sounds. Lukas even boogied away.

Hotel Spa

It has its own hotel Spa, part of our welcome pack when checking in (including a drink) is a free foot massage.

Sadly, I hate it when people touch my feet so I opted out of this one. But the hotel Spa offered a variety of other relaxing options.

Tours

The hotel offers plenty of tours and activities. We choose to book a day trip to Mana Island in the Mamanuca islands via the website as it was slightly cheaper than the hotel.

This included a hotel pick up and drop off to and from Denarau, cruise and the day at Mana Island resort

If you fancy getting out for a bit check out the Kula Wild Adventure Park, going hiking in Sigatoka Sand Dunes National Park (views are spectacular) or visit the Biausevu Waterfall. For a cheaper option, rather than a tour, take a taxi to Biausevu Village.

The village charges $25 FJD per person to visit the waterfall. Remember to take your reef shoes.

Final Thoughts

Overall we were sad to leave, the people of Baderra Beach Inn make your stay truly magical and I hardly ever say that.

But if you look at their rates on Trip Advisor etc you’ll see I’m not the only one who believes that this is the best hotel in Fiji.

Hi, I've been fortunate enough to have travelled for over 25 years. My parents gave me the travel bug when I was 10 years old by taking my sister and I to the USA and Mexico for two months. I've travelled by myself, with mates, with my wife and now as a family of four. My goal is to inspire our families to get out and see the world.
