Booking.com We book with this company a lot as they offer a loyalty programme. They are worldwide and offer a wide range of accommodation types.

Agoda.com – Another great accommodation booking platform. Great for comparing prices. We have used this site in Asia as they have offered some great prices or great accommodation 

Vrbo.com – (Vacation Rentals by Owner) is an online platform connecting travelers with property owners, offering vacation rental homes, cabins, and apartments worldwide for family trips, group stays, or getaways.

Airbnb – we use Airbnb on our recent trip around Europe especially as we need to kitchen to help us keep within a budget. Airbnb is a global online marketplace connecting travellers with unique accommodations, including homes, apartments, and experiences.

Trustedhousesitters – connects pet owners with verified sitters worldwide, offering pet care in exchange for accommodation. It fosters trust, community, and affordable travel through mutual benefits, ensuring pets stay happy at home. This is great when exploring cities where accommodation can be expensive.

Hostelworld – Although we haven’t used HostelWorld recently, we did before having kids. They offer budget-friendly hostel options, perfect for meeting people or saving money. We still compare prices on their site.

Booking Flights

Kiwi.com  – is an online travel agency specialising in innovative flight booking. It offers affordable, customised travel itineraries by combining flights, buses, and trains, supported by user-friendly tools and customer service.

CheapOair – is an online travel agency offering affordable flights, hotels, car rentals, and vacation packages. It focuses on providing budget-friendly options with user-friendly booking tools and 24/7 customer support.

WayAway – is a travel platform offering cashback on flights, hotels, and car rentals through its membership program. It provides competitive rates, travel guides, and user-friendly tools for trip planning.

Airport Lounge Access

Priority Pass – This is a membership platform and sometime Connie and I both have. Each of us are allowed to bring one guest… hence the kids. They have over 1500+ loungers worldwide and is a lifesaver when we need to relax and saves us lots of money as we don’t need to purchase airport food.

Getting Around

Discover Cars – We use them when we were last in Europe and need a car to visit family around Germany. They have an easy platform to use and wonderful customer service.

Rentalcars.com – Another great site, we have booked with them in the past and it’s also great to see a price comparison.

We always use the following two train websites when in Europe, great for price comparisons 

Trainline – is a travel booking platform that allows users to search, compare, and book train tickets across various European countries, offering real-time updates, route information, and flexible travel options.

Rail Europe: They offer various rail passes, routes, and services to help travelers explore the Europe efficiently.

Busbud: This was a great site that made booking bus tickets around Europe super easy. However, they are worldwide too. Check them out for great prices.

Welcome Pickups – We love this site, especially when we arrive in a new country/city after a long or late arriving flight and we just want to get to our accommodation. We last used Welcome Pickups when we arrived in Bali after a 12 hour flight from Istanbul.

Activities, tours and attractions

Get Your guide – one of the best sites out there, this helps us during our travel planning faze and then once we are ready we book. They offer over 100,000 travel activities worldwide and you can read pervious customer reviews and in most cases cancel up to 24hrs before your activity or tour.

Viator – is like Getyourguide, Viator offers tours and activities worldwide. They also offer a reserve now pay later so you can keep your options open.
